ABOUT
Kate Gray is a full-time screenwriter and script consultant whose two great loves are telling stories and helping other writers learn how to tell their own.
Kate has led and participated in numerous writers' rooms across Australia. She is currently writing the one-hour family drama A House Divided for WBMC and developing a thirty minute comedy-drama, Sharpened Knives, in association with Arenamedia and writer Mararo Wangai.
In addition to working for Warner Bros and Sony Pictures in Los Angeles, Kate has consulted for productions in the UK, Australia, Canada, Austria, Finland, and beyond. Some recent development partners include SBS, Easy Tiger, Samsara Filmproduktion, WBMC, and Arenamedia.
Since 2020, Kate has worked with the Good Material writing program, teaching courses in the fundamentals of screenwriting to hundreds of writers across the globe. Most recently she led the 2025 Screenworks Writing for Television Workshop in New South Wales.

Kate grew up in the desert of Tucson, Arizona. She has since lived all over the world, including Seattle, Los Angeles, Chile, London, and Western Australia.

Some of Kate's favorite series are Succession, Fleabag, Veep, Better Call Saul, The West Wing, Mad Men, and Parks and Recreation. Favorite films include Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Lost in Translation, and Wall-e.
